Grade 2/3 with Mr dean
I would like to offer a warm welcome to all students and parents for 2023! I am delighted to be taking Coimadai Primary’s 2/3 class this year - we’re all in for an exciting time with plenty of challenges. This year will be very busy, and I am excited to foster good relationships with all students. Our class values: we respect other’s right to be safe, to learn, and we are ready to do our best. Mistakes are expected and the important thing is that we improve and learn from our mistakes.
Before school
Teachers will be in the classroom from 8:45am, and I encourage students to be in the classroom at around this time so that they can unpack their bags, organised their belongings, catch up with friends and then be ready for the start of class at 9am.
Absences
Improving the attendance rates of our students is a top priority for Coimadai Primary. Please report any absences to 5367 2907 or text 0409 589 888 before 9am, including your child’s name, grade level, reason for absence and expected date of return.
Late Arrivals
Any student arrivals after 9:15am must go through the office. We are required by the Department to log any late arrivals with them.
Munch n’ Crunch
I am more than happy for students to graze on healthy snacks at any point during the school day. In addition, water bottles must be brought to school and children may drink and refill their bottles as needed.
Outdoor games
I strongly believe that physical fitness is a crucial aspect to children’s capacity to learn and concentrate effectively. Therefore, I take students out for short running games once or twice a day in order to help them focus on their learning. These games are not competitive in nature and are aimed as an enjoyable release of stress and tension to better promote their learning.
If your child is unable to participate in outdoor games for any reason, please contact me via ClassDojo.
Homework
Homework consists primarily of nightly reading practice. We encourage parents to log the reading of their children nightly; this will be checked each morning during independent reading and reading conferences. Work that could have been finished during our sessions in the day may also be prescribed as homework.
Specialist classes:

Physical Education - Mrs Ross

Best regards,
Adam Dean and Sue Monagle
